After the hit of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) worsen the Philippine economic situation which estimated P14.9 billion Total economic cost: no less than (this does not include the losses incurred by the business sector. The breakdown is as follows:
1. Agri and Fisheries: P8.6 billion
2. Transportation: P3.1 billion (this includes the foregone revenues of civil aviation (passengers) at P358 million
3. Housing: P2.5 billion
4. Government sector (including educ infra and assistance): P284 million
5. Access Cost of Students (who were effectively displaced from their schools. these schools were converted into evacuation centers): P88 million. This could go up to P140 million.
6. Foregone revenues of the dead, present value: P290 million

In addition, no less than P1.06 billion YEARLY in agri lands revenues are considered ‘no chance of recovery’.

Philippine Great Disaster After Three Decade

Although Filipinos is used to disasters this series of super typhoon are felt by every Filipinos no matter what status in life. It doesn't matter if your poor or rich you are when mother nature angers. As of September 26, 2009 Typhoon "Ondoy" (Ketsana) hit Metro Manila and nearby areas flooding the entire NCR (National Capital Region) which are not passable including Malabon (C4 Letre, M.H. Del Pilar, Panghulo Road, Catmon and Dampalit); E. Rodriguez cor. Araneta Avenue in Quezon City; Palasan in Valenzuela; Brgys. 180, 185, 187 in Pasay; Brgy. Santolan in Pasig; Barangay Malanday in Marikina; Brgy. Tunasan in Muntinlupa; and Brgys. Banaba, Sta. Ana, and San Mateo in Rizal. Most of the said areas remain submerged in flood waters.
